Cloth Diaper Storage

I know lots of people store their fluff all sorts of different ways. I thought I'd share how we store our fluff (and accessories!) for those of you still looking for ideas.

The majority of our fluff would be kept in media storage bins that we got at Target (back-to-school section... I think they were intended for CDs and DVDs, really). These are kept under the changing table.

Top row are all now all pocket diapers in the left 3 baskets, and wipes and liners in the fourth. When I took this picture, however, the first two baskets were pockets, the third basket was covers with some flats, and then wipes.

The bottom row (in this picture) are prefolds, flats, then two bins of night time diapers. (*currently I have extra inserts with swim diapers and trainers on top of them in one basket, flats and prefolds with covers on top in another basket, and two row of night time diapers*)

Our wet bags, hanging pails and pail liners we keep in the "diaper holder" that came with the bedding set we purchased. It's snapped onto the end of the changing table.

For all of our accessories, we have a stand-up organizer (next to his diaper pail). On top you can see some Nursery Wipes (Earth's Best), some CJ's BugBanisher (which I would spray on before we head outside in the summer time), and a travel-size pack of Nursery Wipes.

In the top drawer we keep an array of baby items.... extra creams, fingernail clippers, snappis and boingos, etc.

The middle drawer is full of brand new diapers for Squiggle. I am keeping them separate from the others right now since I want to prep them at the same time. The used ones I purchased for Squiggle I have in a bag waiting to be stripped/washed before first use. I'll probably do this all in May when we get closer to the time we'll need them.

For Bobble's "childcare diapers" (which I keep separate from the rest so we have enough for when he's at childcare), we keep them in the bottom drawer.

Speaking of Squiggle's diapers, I have no idea what I'm going to do for newborn diaper storage! We'll want something with easier access than where they are currently, so I guess I'll have to move some of the OS pockets over to the drawer or something.

  1. Oh this is a diaper station of my dreams!!! We don't have much space at all so I will just have a top drawer of a dresser to use for diaper storage and I'm not sure if that will work - this gave me some great ideas!!! Thanks for sharing :)

    1. Aww, thanks! The media bins were my husband's idea, actually... but I'll take credit for the way I put the diapers in them! *laughs* I'm glad it helped :)

  2. Great looking station! I use an entire 6 drawer dresser and have them stacked in the closet as well. I have too many diapers :) You look so well organized!

  3. This looks awesome! I've only been cloth diapering full time for a month and a half so I'm still figuring out how to organize everything. I'm bursting at the seams currently. This is motivating me to get some better organization going!!

  4. We have a similar setup with open baskets on the changing table shelves, only we've got a few Land of Nod baskets and some Ikea cube bins. We've only got two pail liners (I notice we have two of the same, the blue Bummis and blue FB!), so one is always in the pail while the other is washing/drying.

I like those Target baskets, though; they're the perfect size! I might have to look for some ...

    1. Hmm, I only have 1 bummis (frog print), but over 30 FB. I'm wondering which two you thought were bummis.

Those storage bins are awesome, but they only seem to have them around back-to-school :(

  5. What a stash! This is an awesome storage set up. I'm curious how much it has changed since last year!

    1. It has changed sooooo drastically! I now have a storage container (this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XYhHUMPx5M4/SrvaNlTuZjI/AAAAAAAAFXU/dsUImUO3E58/s400/Original%20Toy%20Bin.jpg ) full of diapers, too! I've gotten rid of all my small, sz 1, and newborn diapers, and sold at least 30 other pockets
